We are very proud of this year at the Halifax Convention Centre. Once again, we met and exceeded all business and financial performance targets. We also hosted a record number of national and international events, which drove economic impact and vibrancy to Halifax and Nova Scotia and embraced our local community like never before.
This exceptional performance helped us reach significant milestones.
Combined with activity at Scotiabank Centre since 2018-2019, we have hosted more than 1,500 events, welcomed 3.2M guests, and generated an economic impact of over half a billion dollars. This achievement comes at the successful conclusion of our first Five-Year Strategic Plan (2019-2024), in which all targets were met.
Throughout the year, our attention was focused on consultations with stakeholders to chart the course for the next five years. What we heard was a shared sense of optimism for growth in Nova Scotia, across the industry. We heard that live events matter – as drivers of prosperity, social impact, economic growth, and most importantly, community.
By working together, we can showcase our wonderful province to the world and further optimize all the potential of Nova Scotia. While we recognize the efforts it has taken to get here, let’s continue to leverage the power of live events to create impact and vibrancy worth celebrating.

The Halifax Convention Centre is a cornerstone of our province’s economic and cultural life. It brings people together, sparks new ideas and drives growth in sectors across Nova Scotia — from hospitality and tourism to tech, education and the arts.
Each event held here is an opportunity to showcase what makes our province special: our welcoming communities, innovative businesses, coastal cuisine and world-class talent. Whether it’s a local gathering or an international conference, the Halifax Convention Centre helps us make lasting connections and create real value for Nova Scotians.
Thank you to the team at Events East and to all the partners who contribute to this success. Your work continues to strengthen our province and share the best of Nova Scotia with the world.
Honourable Tim Houston
Premier of Nova Scotia
At the grand opening of the Halifax Convention Centre in 2018, I remember standing in awe of this immense, state-of-the-art facility in the heart of our downtown. More than anything, I remember feeling an overwhelming sense of potential.
Now, in 2025, that potential has been realized.
Since opening day, the Halifax Convention Centre has marked major milestones that have helped shape our city’s growth. It has welcomed guests from across the globe while remaining deeply rooted in community, championing local voices and experiences. This past year, the Centre made impressive strides in advancing equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility, creating a space that reflects our values and strengthens our pride of place.
Events at the Halifax Convention Centre are known for their excellence.
But more than that, they showcase the strength of our entire municipality—as a vibrant destination, a leader in hospitality and innovation, a hub of research and learning, and most of all, a welcoming community.
